The stylistic visual introduction to the series and its themes

Alongside this, stylistic jump cuts are used on each clip to create edgy visuals, along with footage that focuses on the loss of childhood and searching/changing of identity. Including childhood drawings being burnt, and a passport being copied.

The overall elements of the sequence consist of transformative themes that represent the tone of the series, varying footage including the main actress for main character representations, a dramatic, almost emotional soundtrack to suit the genre, and the key credits of the production companies, cast names, series title and series creator.

This sequence appears to be well suited to production company standards and conventions, alongside The Identity's personal style.

Opening titles sequences are commonly used to introduce the television series or films that they're made for in order to present the audience with the production's title, cast names, key production credits, visual content and overall themes.

The visual content and overall themes of the sequence can be achieved and expressed through the use of selective and appropriate footage, editing techniques, colourisation, pacing and sound. These elements give the viewers an outline of the series' story and can be used to capture the audience's attention.

The Identity's opening sequence has been created in line with the genre and themes of the series. Consisting of light, warm tones that slowly transform into dark, cool tones over the course of 40 seconds. Which signify the transformation of the main character's life in such a short period of time.
